1/9: Since Pagoda Nr 2 all body parts were “KTL coated”: after removing all rusty parts, a constructable basis of the body remains, which will be derusted and is carefully freed from all remaining coatings. The reconstruction can then follow on that basis. Upon finishing the car body, it has to be derusted again as during the previous work, another layer of rust film has been formed. The derusted procedure is repeated once again after which the KTL coating is performed immediately. The KTL coating is a sophisticated process, during which all body parts are immersed in several dispersions. However, a major advantage of this process is that the coating will fill all cavities and also hidden spots will be coated. In terms of rust protection, the process will produce equal results as for a freshly produced car body. Subsequent to the KTL coating, all body parts will be treated extensively with a sealing compound, followed by an application of a protective undercoating. This undercoating will be the final basis for the color finish.
